BOING was lucky enough to be invited to the brand-new obstacle site of GO APE at Alexandra Palace, and of course we jumped, climbed, swung and zip wired at the chance.
Hidden within the hustle and bustle of North London’s Muswell Hill and Wood Green, Go Ape sat perfectly amongst the trees and the beautiful grounds of the famous Ally Pally. Usually known for its breadth of music and hospitality events, today BOING’s Kate and Tamsyn went to investigate the new Go Ape attraction.... we were joining the tribe.
We were greeted with blue skies, beautiful winter sun and the friendly faces of the Go Ape staff, who were ready to put their training and skills into action, and after the safety demo and a practice on a mini obstacle, we were off! The attraction is cleverly designed, with three tiers which progressively get harder as you go around and go up. The paths challenge your balance, co-ordination, and agility, as well as being fun and generating a great sense of achievement. As you work your way through the obstacles, you are positioned for a brilliant panoramic view of the nations’ capital, yet still having the sense you are in a quiet woodland area.
The 2-3 hour Tree Top Adventure has a large range of crossings, with the option to tackle more difficult paths, zip wires and Tarzan swings. There was something to challenge the most confident and nervous of individuals, and most importantly it was good fun too.
A massive thank you to Go Ape, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we can’t recommend the new site enough !
