Mark Solper - Born to Fly

Mark Solper - Born to Fly
I've always been an adventurous girl so naturally I'd want an adventurous partner, right? Well I certainly lucked out in finding Mark! Being a rock climber and highliner myself, I wasn't quite sure that dating a BASE Jumper would work out. But, it turns out that having separate but similar passions really compliments each other. I thought I'd take a minute to introduce my boyfriend, Mark, who was born to fly. I've always been an adventurous girl so naturally I'd want an adventurous partner, right? Well I certainly lucked out in finding Mark! In 2013 I was living in Moab, Utah (still am) and came across a tall and handsome BASE Jumper while I was working at a bar. Little did...

Pepite 300m M4

Pepite 300m M4

With some inspiration and a gap in the bad weather we decided to head back up the hill again today, we did some research and found a fairly new route that had been put up on the North face of the Petit Verte, the route looked pretty amazing and the approach was fairly simple so after some planning we headed up and made an attempt on the line.

We Climbed another amazing route today, It was tough but we pulled it off, we also lost a rope trying to get off the route but with some scarey down climbing and extra anchors we eventually arrived at the base of the climb.

With a gap in the bad weather and snowfall dying down we decided to head up high again and look at the Pellisier Route on the East face of Pointe Lachenal, I have been looking at this route for a while now but never had chance to try it so...

Acclimatising the wrong way

Acclimatising the wrong way

After a late start off up the mountain due to bad weather we finshed the route late and had to sleep high, this was not good due to not being acclimatised properly, but it was well worth it to finish the route in an amazing sun set and cloud inversion.

After arriving in Chamonix this week the weather wasn’t the best for climbing, if I was here to ski then I would have been laughing, for this time of year the amount of snow still around and still falling was incredible, but me being me I was pretty determined that...
