Happy New Year From our British Ski Champion

Hi, I hope you had a lovely Christmas and a very Happy New Year! I know it has been a while since my last update and I have been very busy with the start of my winter season. After some brilliant training in the Autumn in Tignes, despite the lack of snow, I started my first races in November. From November until Christmas the races just haven't stopped! I pushed out the start gate 16 times in just over a month. I went from Italy, to Switzerland, Austria, Norway and France. Although I struggled to put two clean runs together in a race I was really pleased with a 2nd place finish in Val Thorens in GS and a personal best result since my knee injury that showed me I was on the right tracks. I also scored my first ever EuropaCup points in GS in Kvitfjell, Norway. Starting with bib 77 and finishing in 29th position. I finished off my Christmas races moving from bib 78 to 37th in the EuropaCup in Andalo and missing out on a podium by just 0.03 in Font Romeu in the Pyrenees.Whilst most of the start of my season has been dedicated to GS I'm looking forward to getting the long skis out in January for SG and Downhill. I have written a blog summarising my year which I would love for you to have a read!Thank you so much for your support during 2017 and I look forward to sending you lots of good news in 2018!Cara BrownBritish Ski Champion Read more
